A few expressions to take notice of are: exceeding great and precious promises, partakers of the Divine natures, escaped corruption in the world. The promises we have in Christ are magnificent and beyond all price. These are promises of life; they are the blessings God promised, and through the power of these promises we experience partnership with the Divine nature – God’s very nature. We share and participate in God’s nature. By sharing in God’s nature, we have escaped (and freed from) the corruption (decay, ruin, destruction) that’s in the world. Corruption may include sickness, failure, and any form of calamity. WE ARE ANTI-CORRUPTION! In Psalm 16:10, Christ speaking by the mouth of David said, “You will not allow your Holy One to experience corruption.” Even in death, Christ’s body did not experience corruption of any kind. In this life, we have been freed from corruption. I declare upon your life, no form of decay, ruin, destruction, or calamity shall come your way. You have escaped the corruption that is in the world.
